If I wish to compete with a Panda/Seat in US competition, what will be the requirements? ie: registration, insurance, documentation, etc.

Thank you for your timely response.

I think all that you have listed....
If it is for ext. then I am not sure if you need so many papers..
If it is for Street or even Super Street, then it will need all the paper work any other car needs to drive on the road. [Wink]

why not insure it as a "kit car" or "show car". that would make it legal. After all you go to shows with it. or am i wrong by saying that.

Im pretty sure part (the main part) of the trouble getting them here in the US is getting them to up to legal saftey standards in order to be registered

People bring over cars all the time for 'racing purposes' only. No need for street legality there and the car must be trailered to every show.

Im certain an insurance company will insure the car with liability only if its an off road use vehicle.

That's fine but only in extreme class. In street classes the car must be street legal hence the term street class.

If you could point me to that rule, that'd be great.

Thanks,

All I stated was post the rule. Without the numerous grammatical errors would be preferable. [Laugh]

There is no rule to make a panda legal for normal competition in the US

The only thing that is required is World Finals requirments. You must show proof of ownership of the vehicle and have liability insurance on it. The reason for this is to hold you liable if any damages are caused by your vehicle.

There is no requirement during the year that you must own the vehicle or have insurance on it at 1X, 2X or 3X events.

The "panda" can/may be trailered to all events and NOT licenced at all. You only must start it and pull it into the lanes ( Example: 30 feet )

The vehicle does not have to meet DOT requirements to compete.

[Wink] FYI - Last I heard, in the State of Washington, you can manufacture your own vehicle and the state will licence it for you aka legal for DOT in most states.

See you in the lanes,
