Topic: trunk system ruling
am I allowed to seal off around my box with expanding foam as long as it does not protrude past my trunk area? I am not seeing anything prohibiting this... but just want to be sure without DQ at the 3x show coming up this weekend I will be competing in Street C -------------------- 2005-1983 VW Rabbit Adv.1 161.2dB AudioControl SPL190 2-RE MT 12" on 4-American Bass 200.1's 2007-1995 Dodge Neon Street C 149.6dB on TL 1-RE MT 15" on Crossfire VR1000d 152.2dB on TL 1-RE MT 15" on Powerbass xa3000d 154.2dB 4-Powerbass XA3000's

as long as it is in the trunk and the seats can close over it it is considered a trunk system or that is the way it is in MECA -------------------- Team Notoriously Loud Mafia quote: originally posted by pitbull: go f uck a light socket

Unfortunately it's a very grey area, the rulebook says it can be used sparingly, but what does dbdrag consider sparingly? I take that as you can use spray foam to seal up some cracks or open areas there, but not the whole trunk opening into the car. (eg. If a fiberglass panel is built for cosmetics and that seals off the trunk from the interior from the car, if there are a few small sections that have gaps, then the spray foam can be used there.) That is my take on the rule. Hopefully a multipoint judge will chime in and answer these questions. Here is a thread I found with a little discussion about this -http://audioforum.termpro.com/topic/24/936.html -------------------- Shattered and Broken. Now Recovering.

Expandingfoam can only be used to fill small voids etc. No bigger than an average fist. But you can build a box that fits perfectly into the opening - and nothing is stopping you from making part of the box out off expandingfoam. As long as you can show the judges, that its part of the box, and not attached to the car, its legal. Hope you understand what i mean. -------------------- - Lawaetz - www.dbdrag.dk
