Ok, here I go again: I have a question about introducing new Products. Deadline is now on sunday, July 15th. Why not July 13 (Friday 13th ) or monday July 16th? Pretty useless to set it onto a sunday IMHO.
For me, its kind of relevant. I know a product what is finished in deleopment NOW. This week I got the news. BUT: It isnt onto an online shop right now, or better, the real official anouncement has to come out yet. But this company dont know about this ruling in dB Drag. I dont know if I can tell them in the next hours to put it onto their website. As I said, the product is ready NOW and will be offered NOW or Soon, its about days and its not about offering it to become legal in dB Drag. But I would like to use this product for the rest of the season 2007 including finals. So what to do? Hoping that they announce it within the next 2 days? I have pictures and technical datas and know that other companies just put products onto their websites what dont even exist to that time. This is different from that company, product exists, and its not a "prototypeletsseewhatwecanimprovenowbutwemadeitavailablerightintime" thing...

The frame (basket) is old, basically its the same speaker line than an existing line, but now its a special SPL version. But motor is new, cone is new, I dont know about the spider and the coil, they MAY be the same, but I dont know exactly. Surround is old.

Hi Stany, its a "buy it off the shelf" thing. For everybody, nothing customizeable. Only problem is maybe the high price (for this brand) and so you need to order it specially because building thousands of them and store them is too expensive.

last year cutoff was moved to the end of the season, I dont know why Wayne would change it back this year.

Ok, here are brandnew Infos about the situation !
Today I met the responsoble developer of that product at an Event what I did. When I got the news from him, a few days ago, that the woofer is READY, he was already gone out of office for a visit of some german dealers of that brand. So I had to explain him personally whats the problem with that deadline. Ok, these people finished that woofer without knowing something about a deadline for dB Drag. And they would have put it onto the wensite when nice blinky blinky product fotos are available and so on. Thats how they are so professional in what theire doing. But now this info would have been too late, or IS maybe too late to use the woofers in dB Drag and at the finals for dB Drag. So they "authorized" me to anounce that this woofer is now READY and COMERCIALLY AVAILABLE. But question is : Will MY VOICE count for that? I mean it can take a while until it appears on the website, a few days maybe. Details are not out yet, what impedance, what parameters. I just have ONE photo from the front, and I know that it will have about 7 Kilogramms of Neodymium. There is also a version with 14 (!!!) Kilogramms of Neodymium. But I think it will be the 7 Kilo Version. Basket will be black and the same as I said. The woofer has to come right from the factory, what will take a while also, but it CAN be ordered and is not a custom made thing. If everything works out, I will have the #1 of the production laying around at my event on July 21st so that every vistor can touch it. Again, this will be a special order thing, because the prize will be higher than any else Woofer of that brand. They ESTIMATE something between 1500 and 3000 Euro. What is a wide wide range.
So, thats it, I hope I choose the right words to make this an legal anouncement. Also I would like to hear a definitively answer from a judge or maybe Wayne (but I know he is reaaaaly busy with moving and planning the finals). I will put that text into the german forum also. Its now about 2 hours to the deadline here in germany. I try to animate then to put the rare infos onto the website. I dont even know IF I will use this woofers in the cars, or anybody else, but its so close with that deadline that I hope it will be ok.
Again for understanding: This company, ACR, is my main sponsor also and I informed them about some dB Drag rules. But I dont know everything what they do and plan, nor do I have big influence, maybe a little But we want to do it right (even if leate) and legal.

I just can tell the Retail price here. It will be 2250 Euros (2860 Dollars). Too good that it has 7 Kilogramms of Neodymium less than planned, or the price would be around 3000 Euro...

Ok, its a while ago and I got some green lights for my stuff already (regardless that its still on the way from China ) we have a little discussion here about "prototyes" or lets say "non official, available" equipment (woofers). I say that you cannot use this equipment at ANY Multipoint Events, and the finals, if its not introduced in the market. And the deadline for usage at the finals is the 60days prior season cut off.
So you cannot use non existing woofers before, or after the deadline. Anyways it makes no sense when youre allowed to set world records with that stuff BEFORE the deadline, and not after it.
You understand what I mean?
In example, it was allowed to use non existing Woofers at Multipoint Events, to set german records, get certified score, BEFORE the deadline. I am 100% sure that this is NOT CORRECT !
You just can use that "prototypes" at single point events. But NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER at Multipoints, at NO TIME, when they are not officially available and introduced in the market like I/we did it with the Emphaser Woofers.
BTW, they are on the website since this time, visible and ready to order for EVERYBODY !!!
www.emphaser.com go to produkte/woofers/SPL-X4 So basically its "just" an improvement of the Emphaser E15SPL-X4 and a competition Version. And not even a completely new product what should make it 1000% save.

My 2 cents would be, for proto types use any time... ex WF and EF. If all is made offical before cut off. It should be ok for EF and WF.

5-5 Auto sound equipment introduced less than 60 days prior to the Season Cut-Off date will not be permitted at the Finals or at ANY multi-point event.
