I read the rules regarding this topic but there seems to be a "grey area" which can be interpreted differently. Example: I plan on doing SM 1-2 this year. Can I move the battery (from its original stock location) to another location in the engine compartment? Some folks say "yes" as long as it is still under the hood. I am not shure so I am asking for clarification before I make a big mistake. Thanks guys.

The rulebook says that the battery must be in the factory location. If the battery is no longer in the factory location (where the battery was put by the factory) then its not legal.

I think what he is asking is what is considered the "factory location"
ie is it just limited to the factory battery tray, or just under the hood.
From what ive read/seen posted, I thought it was as long as it was safely located under the hood (if the vehicle was like that oem) then it was ok. Thus meaning that you could make a secondary battery tray to relocate the battery to better fit a larger battery

wayne made it clear last year that if "factory" was under the hood, then anywhere under the hood was fine.
