I'm seeking an official response (by dBSteve or Wayne) about this.
quote: If the vehicle is an extended-cab or king-cab pickup truck, then the “normal use” restriction for “jump seats” that are located behind the front seat of the pickup is waived.
Additional Guidelines:
· This waiver only applies to pickups that have “jump seats” located behind the front seat. The dBDRA defines a “jump seat” as an OEM seat that was designed to be folded up against the side or back of the pickup’s passenger compartment. · Jump Seats may not be removed from the pickup, but they may be folded in order to accommodate the sound system.
Acording to this rule, i would like to know how would you rule a full size pick-up, with an quad-cab type body (read here a 4 doors pick-up, like this one ) does this particular rule apply?
Here is how the seats are folding:
Personnaly, i do not belive that those are supposed to be "jump seats as shown on typical "king-cab" pick-ups like this: but they are clearely folding up against the back of the pick-up. So how would you classify those seats?
My interpretation would be that the seats are to be considered as jump-seats and shall not be removed, as stated in the rules. Even if they are not techicaly jump-seats nor look like typical jump-seats.
If this is not the case, shall we consider Quad-cab pick-ups like normal vehicules, and require that the competitor keep his/her seats in the car?
P.S., No it's not a Dodge ad... Just to show a typical example.

So basicly, they should be treated as normal seats in a normal car. Not removed in street class and removable in super-street classes. The fact that it's a Quad-cab dosen't say that it should be classed like a pick-up with the previous rule, but we have to check with the seat configuration.

I have a friend with and 05 quad cab and there is not much room under the seat after you remove some brackets. He had a mdf box then went to a joe fox box "composite" and gained some air space he has 10's but you can put 12's in one. now thinking about putting a 12 under the arm rest whick will eliminate the storage area again. Its not much of a stereo but it sounds good.
