I know its benn up here time and time agen.... Multi Cell Batteries.. ok heres my ? I know a Batterie com. thats willing to make the multi cell batteries. what are the requirments of using this batterie?
5-2 All auto sound equipment must be (or have been) commercially available. The determination as to whether a product is (or was) commercially available shall be at the sole discretion of the dBDRA.
Additional Guidelines:
· Equipment must be available for purchase through legitimate auto sound retailers. For clarification purposes, the dBDRA defines a legitimate retailer as any business that is legally licensed to conduct auto sound related transactions, operates a retail establishment that is open for business at least 40 hours per week, and is a factory authorized dealer for the equipment in question.
If it looks like you are building/selling them for you and your friends, then you would not be a legitimate retailer .
BUT
The same rule applies to subs and in the past dB Drag has allowed the mixing and matching of parts to build subs as long as ALL THE PARTS were commercially available from a legitimate retailer . My take would be that as long as you bought parts IE cells and cases that were commercially available that you should be legal.
BUT BUT
· Hybrid (ie 12/16 volt) and/or custom-made batteries are prohibited.
What is custom made? That would be the big problem. The cells are commercially available for purchase through legitimate retailers.
