I plan on doing a system that would put me in the 5-8 sub class, but it won't be finished until mid summer. So in the mean time I was going to compete in the 3-4 sub class, but I will problably compete in the 3-4 more than the 5-8. Does this mean that I would have to compete in the 3-4 at finals or could I compete in the 5-8?

You may switch classes throughout the season without losing any points. In fact, you could compete in one class all season long and then switch to another class at the Finals.
We do not restict competitors to competing in a given class for several reasons.
* Competitors are encouraged to "go big". * At the local level, not all classes are represented.
