Is this a rule that is eyeballed to be within the rules. Or is there a string test from front windshield bottom to bottom of rear glass. Just curious cause I havn't seen it done before at the 3x event even. Can I have part of my box touch my rear hatch if it is below the window line? As in I can close my hatch and it fits tightly against the box. I drive an Integra if that helps any, the window line rises as it gets toward the back.

your box has to be below the lowest point of the front window, back window has nothing to do with it.

I thought it was the lowest point of any window. When you say front window to you mean the windsheild or the door windows?
Wall - The dBDRA defines a speaker wall as any subwoofer enclosure and / or baffle board that exceeds the height of an imaginary plane that stretches horizontally from the lowermost point of the window opening in the driver’s door to the lowermost point of the window opening in the passenger’s door on the opposite side of the vehicle.
Wall Test – Two judges position themselves on opposite sides of the vehicle. A string (or wire) is passed through the open window on the driver’s side, through the interior of the vehicle, and out of the open window on the passenger side of the vehicle. Both judges should then pull the string so that it is taught while resting against the lowest point on the top of the 2 doors (where the glass enters the door frame). If the enclosure in question does not exceed the height of this string, then the enclosure is not considered to be a wall. If any part of the enclosure exceeds the height of the string, then the enclosure is considered a wall

Yes I have and the rules seemed clear until you posted. EVER TRY ACTUALLY THINKING THAT MAYBE YOU HAD MADE A STATEMENT THAT WASN'T CLEAR AND HAD CONFUSED THE SUBJECT EVEN FURTHER. The front window implied windsheild. You said front window not front door windows,my doors are on the side of my car not in the front, so yes I was confused. Not by the way the rules are worded, but by your statement/ interpration. Had you said windows it may have even been clearer what you were talking about but because you said front window. My windsheild is about 3 inches different then my door windows so yes I was concered and looking for clearifacation not an attitude. As we all know the rule book has been reinterperated many times by many people and I thought this had happened again. This just happened on the Pandas. YOUR POST, NOT THE RULE BOOK CONFUSED ME! EVER TRY READING A POST CLOSLY BEFORE YOU RESPOND? HE WAS ASKING ABOUT THE WINDSHEILD AND BACK WINDOW. YOU THEN ASSUMED THAT WHEN YOU TALKED ABOUT FRONT WINDOW EVERYBODY KNEW YOU MEANT DOOR WINDOW. EVER TRY JUST ANSWERING A QUESTION WITHOUT CHILDISH SMARTASS ATTITUDE?

Guess what, I'm sarcastic, and a smartass, deal with it. You knew the answer, all of use can read, why should anyone even bother to take the time to answer? This is the reason I usually dont, because I get jumped by a bunch of e-thugs everytime I do...

what i think maybe in the future is like the common street cars like crx's explorers pandas have a set height over of say your box can be including anything else that is mounted on top like say subs or amps. if not measurable then you bust out with the string test but i think it will be alot eazier with a little chart that a certified judge can take measurements and summit it to the dbra and keep it on records for finals and somewhere maybe post it.
i do think for crx's its 15 inches but i think thats pushing it not 100% sure and for explorers its 16 icnhes but again not 100% tallest i build my boxes are 14inches i rather not push the limits. but yah just an idea for the judges

I would suggest contacting all of the certified judges by Email with detailed pictures before assuming it has a trunk or hatchback also no matter how clear you think it is or what the manufacturer calls it . Turns out that the way they determine which rules apply may have nothing to do with you having a trunk or hatchback or even what is written in the rule book but has to do with their feelings about what rules they want to apply to your car.

I have no problem with the rulebook. It for the most part is clear and easy to read. I just have seen problems with rules being enforced that are not in the rulebook and rules being enforced on cars they don't apply to. I have found that many judges do not check here so I was offering my honest advice for getting answers.
