All reflective surfaces, with the exception of the windshield and dashboard, must be located a minimum of 12 inches (30.48 cm) from the measurement sensor. (Intent: Reflective surfaces shall not interfere with the measurement equipment.) For clarification purposes, the dBDRA considers any surface greater than 3/8" (9.525 mm) in width to be a reflective surface.

See my post above Seat has to be 12" from the sensor itself.

Sorry for the missing pics, it was my pics but i have closed the webhotel where the was hostet. Mikes drawing is correct, but quite ugly
The mig-jig is ofcorse longer than 12", as there is 12" from the end to the middle of the "cut-out". So if you use the mig-jig to measure from the sensor to the seat, you must place the mig-jig under the sensor, so the middle of the "cut-out" is at the same plane as the sensors edge that is close to the seat. Hope it makes sense

Do it better in 1 minute
Yeah, you right, the cut out hole from the micjig is the measurepoint from sensor point to all around it. I everytime set the micjig to the windowoutside and the cutout is at the sensorpoint. If there is something in the way around the circle, the competitor have to remove it...
