regular dynamat?
peal & seal?
second skin - spectrum, damplifier, damplifier pro, sludge, firewall ??

if i understand the post correctly, NO products are legal, until they are added to the certified list?

even products that have been available and used by competitiors for years?

I guess all those Dynamat products is legal...
(and I guess that Dynamat Extreme is the most commond damping mat used in dB Drag Racing)

As we have said before, Resin and kittyhair is not damping mat, its that we whant to prevent used in dB Drag Racing...

Please use commond sense on this issue. If you have a "old regular" damping mat, it will be legal for sure. But if you have a new mat or paste that work more like a strenghten product, than a damping matterial, you may have a problem...

thanks tor.

just trying toclarify. because surely there would be someone that would want to deem something illegal if its not posted in the certified list.

not trying to be a pain, just trying to clarify [Smile]

and many thanks to you and all of the judges for your work this season, and participation on the forum.

You (competitors) need to post brands that you know of, if we have any questions about it, we can get samples for testing... But I think that everybody has understand what we try to do here...

Second Skin Firewall has been tested and approved for use in dB Drag Racing AS LONG AS you the competitor use the product according to its labled instructions and keep within the dB Drag Racing rules.

However .... I do not condone the use of any spray or paste material for the simple fact that it is really difficult to properly measure the exact amount as it is applied.

As Tor has mentioned previously, it is up to YOU the competitor to comply with the rules if you choose to compete in dB Drag Racing. If you use such material as this improperly or can not control the thickness then you might be subject to disqualification from an event.

O.k. peal & seal was mentioned by PornStar, but....
There are other products, basically the same thing as peal & seal, but under differant names. One of them, right off the bat is Protect-o-wrap. Costs around $17 at Home Depot for a roll of 6" x 25'.

I have 3 pic of the product.. The label, thickness, and backing. If that helps out any. If you need a smaple of it, how big of piece would you need?

how about "great stuff"

http://greatstuff.dow.com/greatstuff/cons/choosing.htm

i lov this stuff it bonds so nicely to stop unwanted rattles & can be sanded down then painted to match any thing.

i dont know if its a "damping material" but i thought id ask i would hate to be DQ'ed for making my every day car look/sound good.

not like im going to go fill the doors up but i do like to fill in behind oem panels

great stuff is in the rules already.

listed as expanding foam.

it cant be used as a deadener, it can be used to fill gaps and cracks.

Expanding foam may be used sparingly throughout the vehicle to seal small openings or reduce vibration, but may not be used to fill voids or other large cavities (such as the dashboard or doors).

I'm glad I will only do bass race as I have rhino floors, well over 100 cans of great stuff and enough polyurethane caulk to do a large commercial building.

I can tell you this that no one product is the answer, it's more how and where it's used of course my vehicle wouldn't make the db rules in a conventional manner so gotta love this bass race format [Cool]
