hey i just got a 96 dodge stratus, and when i play tapes in the radio it sounds fine (can't wait to get my cd hu in there...) but when i use a cd car kit, i get an annoying whine over the speakers, in which the frequency increases as the engine speeds up... what could be wrong?? also, how can i fix the rear deck rattling problem without making a new deck?? thanks

Are you plugging the cd player into the cigarette lighter? If yes than your noise problem is probably because the power to the lighter has noise in it. You have four options:

1. Run your power and ground wires from the cd player directly to fusebox and chassis ground.

2. Buy a noise filter for the + lead on the cigarette lighter (available for 10 bucks at Wal-Mart).

4. Run the cd player off batteries.

5. (recommended option) Save up enought money to get a real car cd player.

Your rear deck rattling is due to speakers? The cheap option is to take apart the pieces that are rattling and place a rubber washer in between them (be sure its not visible when re-assembled) and put the pieces back together. Make sure it is not a speaker cone making the rattling sound.

thanx for the words, putting a panasonic mxe deck in there in a couple of weeks, what's causing the rattling is a 15" woofer running with 1000 watts
