i would like to up-grade my current battery, to something that would be more suited to my stereo. i would however also like to use the same battery to start my car. who makes the best battery for this purpose? streetwires, stinger, optima?

Westco is a decent and cheapo battery... Yellow tops eat red's alive for stereo applications IMO, check the specs on their site, also, the blue top from Opt. comes in two models, one IS the yellow and one IS the red, just more expensive.

otptima is a great battery but stinger just released this insane battery out its called the sp1700 1700 ampheres cca in a small battery design this should do well for ur wildest dreams.

I'm not supposed to do this, but I must. Stinger is suspending production of the 1700 indefinitely, until they can get a variety of bugs worked out of it. I like the SPB 1000s(I have 8), but I think the Optimas are a little more friendly as a stand-alone battery.
