thanks to your help i decided on a 150amp mechman (he recommended it over the larger models due to the pulley size on my car) and the powermaster d5100r
now i need to run wire. i have sundown 1500d (1/0ga input, 160amp fuse total) and sundown 125.2 (4ga input, 60amp fuse total)
options ------- one 1/0ga run to the trunk, but i cant seem to find fused distro blocks that have a 1/0 and 4ga output or a regular distro block (that i can fuse after). i would rather have ring terminals, not set-screw
1/0ga AND 4ga run from battery to trunk.
if i go the first option do i just need to fuse the main cable near the battery or do i also need a fuse on each wire after the distro block (if the block is not fused)
i also can not find 160amp fuses, should i go 150 or 175/200 ?
same with the battery fuse, should i go 200 or 250? (total rating = 220)

The 250A Mechman alternator is a GREAT place to start. Then get a good battery for upfront. I'm not sure what kind of car you have, but an XS Power D3400 or D2700 would fit in most vehicles. Then try it out, if you need another battery in the back, add one later.

With you only running a max of 2k watts i would start out by just adding a second bat. As for picking out a bat, I always recommend buying the biggest bat that you can afford and fit in that space( I would recommend something at least as big as a Kinetik HC1400). As for running 16v, dont.
For alternator i would not buy one until you get your system in and have a second bat. Your stock alt may be able to handle the power. If your car is having bad voltage drops though, then it is time to look in to getting a H.O. alt. As for what size I would look at Mechman 205 amp alts.

2000 Acura Integra. Why the D3400 or D2700. what about it makes it a good match for what i want to run? I trust you, I just want to know where the numbers match up.

Hmmm, being an acura, that car might easier fit a 5100 or 5100R...just depends which battery group size fits in your car. Some honda/acura's use the small batteries up front. The Group 34 and 27's fit most other vehicles, just depends what battery you can fit and safely bolt down.
I disagree with Greg here. An alternator is more effective than adding an extra battery. When the car is running, you're drawing off the alternator first. then battery is just a reserve for when the alternator can't keep up, and acts as a filter. You gotta make the power to keep the battery charged anyhow. May as well make it, instead of struggling to pull it out of a half-empty battery. Pulling out of batteries, you're amps getting 10.5-11volts on average. Pulling from a strong alternator with a decent battey, your amps is seeing 12.5-13v while playing. That's another 250W, higher efficiency, and cooler operation

personaly Id pull out the current battery and measure the space that you have avalible but Im pretty sure that you will want the D5100R if Im not mistaken the acuras battery terminals are backwards from american cars

just ordered the D5100R as main battery and a couple sundown amps (1500D and 125.2)
we'll see how i fare
subs are gonna be 2 RE SE 12" sealed for SQ and some rainbow or morel components depending on what the 125.2 birthsheet says.
