Hi, first time post on here.. i did some searching to find some answers, but still want an opinion on my setup. I recently installed a rockford p1000bd in my car, replacing a jbl bp1200 that i had ran the last five years. Also have been using a 1 farad cap that has a voltage readout. I never paid attention to the voltage with the jbl, my headlights held up fine over the years, but i am seeing some dimming with the new amp. That i can live with, but i checked the readout on the cap display, and its showing 9.6v idle, and high 8, low 9s with the system bumping. The amp is working and sounding fine, but im concerned if that truly is the real voltage going to the amp, its gonna overheat and fry soon on me. My regular battery needs replaced, it has gotten old, so i went and bought a kinetik hc1400, thinking i would put that under the hood. Its so small!! Now i am wondering, should i replace the cap with the kinetik, and just buy a new battery for under the hood? I already have the kinetik, and what makes the easiest sense to me money wise is to use the kinetik in place of the cap, and buy a new battery for the car, which i was using a duralast gold, that held up well over the years. Am i gonna damage or not be able to support the kinetik running it like this? i know its preferable to run two kinetiks or agm's..but im wondering if thats absolutely necessary. Obviously it wouldn't hurt to upgrade my alternator, but that might be a few paychecks away still. My amp is 1000w rms..and my old amp was close to that, and my car ran fine for years. Its just a daily driver, no competing, I just don't wanna damage the amp, and of course it would be nice to gain some wattage out of it by giving it the proper voltage as well. THanks for the help!

Toss the Cap, and put the Kinetik in it's place. Then put the biggest XS power battery you can fit in the stock location. If you can take some measurements of how much room you have in the stock location, I can help you get the biggest power cell that will fit.
