Has anyone tested the gain from say 1/0 to connect batteries together vs aluminum bus bars to connect them together??

It would depend on the size of the aluminum and how many runs of 1/0 you are talking about. Copper Bar FTW

copper is expensive but when you shone it up and throw some clear on it.. mmm.. just think if you switch copper to aluminium you'll need like twice as much to do the same amount of work.. I think thats how it works. dont quote me on that

Geoff, didn't you say you didn't see any gain by switching copper vs. aluminum?

and like someone else stated, I would go with thicker aluminum than copper if going that route

If your aluminum is undersized for your needs then switching to the same size copper will gain. Other than that aluminum is fine.

You can write cool things on your bus bars too..
 -

If you're not going to use fuses you can even bolt the terminals directly to the bar.
