OK guys, I will have aprox. 1200 amp of current draw from my amps. I do have a Powermaster Alt that dyno'd 153 amps at idle and 251 at 2000rpm, so lets use that figure. What will it take for batteries to Stay as close to posible to 12v after a full 35 seconds? I would love to run a 2nd alternator but can not do so with streetbeat rules. so how many batteries? Help me out here Scottie, how many d3100s?

With 14500 watts I would run 5 or 6 D3100 if you are trying to stay above 12v.

I may be wrong... i am trying to compaire it in perspective to my buddy running 5k watts off of two D3100 and 1 HC2000. and i run 4k off of one D3100 for bacerace and never drop bellow 12v(with a 250 amp alt) so i am just makein a guess.

5 or 6 should be plenty. XS Power would normally recommend 3-4 D3100's for 14,500W for daily use.

I use the 2500wrms per battery minimum standard because most will at least beat on their system long. Its also good for a bit of key off time too.
