How many d3100 batteries would be needed to run a 10000 watt rms amp for burps and keep the voltage above 12.6. I also have a 160 alternator.

Any idea how much actual power you are seeing on a burp from the amp ?

It is going to take a lot of batteries to stay above 12.6V under load. You are asking for a volatage drop of less than .5V from a full charge. It takes barely any current at all to knock the first half a volt off a fully charged battery. If you want to stay above 12.6V I would recommend doing it with 16V batteries or alternator power... you will save a considerable amount of money. Off the top of my head, you would probably need 10 or more D3100's to hold 12.6 or more... with D1000's, with only 4 you could stay above 15V under load [Wink]
