i need to know how big of a alt i need for a class d 1500watt amp?

im looking at getting a mtx 1000d or 8100damp to power 2 subs, right now they are 12's but when i rebuild them im gonna try and see if i can make them into 8's

because im swaping a mini cooper alt for a saturn alt because its a direct swap

and the stock mini alt is 35amp
and a stock saturn alt is 96 amp

so i need to know if the 96 amp alt will work for 1500watts daily

My buddy's did just fine (stock 96 Saturn SC2) with stock electrical with a SAZ-1500 (@ 1 ohm)....no battery in the back, walmart battery upfront...run to the back was 1/0 gauge and that's it for electrical. If it were me though I may shop around for a slight alt upgrade, if you find a decent deal it wouldnt hurt..

the battery in mini's are in the back, and where i plan to mount the amp, is only a few inches away, so i'll probably have less then a ft of pos cable to the amp

im gonna run a single run of 2/0 off the alt to the back

i got about 30ft left over from the install in my gmc, so thats why im useing te 2/0 wire

i found a mid 90's saturn sc stock alt for 20bucks plus shipping online
so i may try that and see what happens
