yes there was a open spot for an old analog volt meter like the meter below it. I simply put the display in that opening and it easily shines through.

Upgrading the leads would not yield greater performance with the tiny circutboard it comes from, already looked into that. There is another mod coming to have it quick disconnect to vehicles though.

I knew better than to expect a hack job [Wink] When you said modify for a volt meter, I was expecting a surface mount voltage display similar to the analog ammeter. This is much cooler.

So does this mean that future versions may have this feature?

If you do this for yourself keep in mind the volt meter must have a calibrator so you can calibrate it to read the same as your multimeter at the batteris do.

Four digit meters are prefered but not needed.

I did not cut or damage the charger is anyway so it worked out nicely.

I used a cap display meter and they almost always come with a calibrator but you can always use resistors to calibrate if you don't have one on the meter.

There is alot of nice meters I saw on ebay from a asian company that would work really nicely and allow you to not damage the charger in any way. Keep in mind you may void the warranty if Powermaster chooses should something go wrong.

We discussed the option of having a really nice LCD display with a selectable screen allowing you to run through the voltage selections, mode settings/ect. But decided collectively that the XS Power model 1005 intelli-charger would be an over-all better fit for more customers the way it is now. If you can imaging a racer at the track with precious time between rounds trying to figure out how his charger is set with the charger sitting on the ground, and the sun glaring off the screen. We felt this was the bes of both worlds. In the future, if we make a dedicated charger for spl purposes, we will look further into this option.
