How do I know if I will need a new alternator? I have a 130A alternator which is factory that came with my car. I will be running at least 1600RMS should I be fine opr should I upgrade to an Hight output alternator?

With 1600+ watts, I would say get a Hi-outpult alt. Just to start off with ... I'd get a 220+ amp alt and replace the batter under the hood with a deep cycle battery (NSB, Powermaster, Kinetik etc).

I have a 2001 mercury sable. I dont know any shops around here that could put an HO alternator or where would I be able to find one at? Do I really need to get a deep cycle battery?
