ok so i got my amp the other day and my voltage dropped to 10 volts and wouldnt charge up any higher. well today i was driving my truck and got home and my voltage shot back up what could be causing this.

i just replaced it but my voltage has dropped like this before

What did you replace it with? and what kind of battery/batteries?

I havent replaced my battery since i got the truck. Last night i was playing it and my voltage dropped and stayed at 10 volts and gradually went back up. so i think its my battery.

i replaced the alt with a stock s-10 alt.

would i need to get another battery and a higher output alternator to run 0ga or do i need to run 4ga with an extra battery and run the stock 115 amp alternator.
