I think the issue they are really trying to avoid is someone making a battery like a multicell that leaks through the rules last year. I do agree with you that a telacom battery is cheaper and but I know some people out there that are already trying to squeeze around the battery rule with non-automotive battery. I think they should leave it as DOT approved and move on.

where it gets interesting is....the nsb90 IS DOT approved.

I believe the Stinger 1700 and the Odyssey 1700 are the same battery, so the same specs.

And is Cactus making a regular 6 cell battery for Street, or just the multi cells?

CS is coming out with several different sizes for different applications kinda like diff stuff like Powermaster or Kinetic would have but not the same if ya know what I'm saying.
