With the new rules not allowing multicells in Street and the smaller 650 cu inch rule... what does everyone think will be the top battery now?
Something from powermaster, Kinetik, Interstate, Walmart (JK)

Maybe Powermaster D2700 (web measurements are a little over 650. Would like to measure it in person)
After comparing the numbers the NSB looks to be the better of the three. But that is just based on numbers. But with my experience with the NSB's, my money is on the G2700

I was looking at that one too. I'll be curious to how that will stack up. So far the numbers look good.

So what exactly is "legal" for the allowed street class batteries? I believe I read only standard 6 cell construction? Also both lead acid and AGM batteries are allowed. Any other criteria like "readily available" or certain name brands etc.?

That is exactly what I was asking for. I hope Wayne keeps things in check and has rules in place to keep the same thing from happening with the new 650 inch standard battery. I think he needs to keep close tabs on the company's out there that may try to once again work in the grey areas. I also hope that as competitors we all realize the intention of this new rule and not seak out "questionable" new batteries that may pop up.

Funny how someone always has to push the limits. P.s the stinger batts are the same as odyssey.

Yep. When u buy a normal battery which is being sold thousand of times world wide......... i think we shouldn´t take care of them. But if a somebody tries to sell his own 6x2 volt cell battery. We should take care. There are two possibilities. He has just relabeled that battery (like with hawker HX-series done). Or he has put some other cells into a case. I think its obviously that nobody is able to develop/manufacturer his own batteries. So the question is what cells are gonna be taken
I would prefer that "new" batteries should be checked by Tor to be legal.

Just a Quick question, the rules say "Standard 12volt 6 cell AUTOMOTIVE Battery) , the NSB 90 is technically a Telecom Battery? I have one and would like to know ahead of time if it will be legal?

in street B and c its legal. This series of this battery is also sold as an automotive battery by another brand called Zealum (in germany)

Powercell is distributed as automotive battery
In my opinion there are just a very few batts built for automotive use. But there are some distributors selling them also for automotive. The only difference is just the price. A battery labeled for automotive use is mostly more expensive
