i got a 250 amp HO alt from ohio gen and its external reg and when i turn the alt on it starts to work then about 60 secs later it like turns off and stops charging i turn it back off and wait a min i can turn it back on again does the same thing all over again any one have any ideals why its doing that for?

might be overheating?? have you called Gus or Tom? (I REALLY hope i have the names right)

not yet been working to much but will be calling them today but not over heating not on long enough to over heat it shuts off with in seconds and its work before with np's

What do you mean its shutting off?
What car?
How are you turning it on and off?

i have a switch to turn it off and on its External Regulated and just like i said once u turn it on its on for like 20 secs and starts charging then just up and stops charging like it shut off never had a problem with it in the past at all and been wired the same way for about 6 months so i know its not wired wrong and its in a 1997 Bravada
