Is 1/0 wire not large enough for a 300A alt?

I am planning on running a Sundown 3Kw amp in the back of my car and upgrading to a 300A alt and throwin a battery in the trunk as well.

From some chart i seen online, it says that 1.0 wire can only carry 300A of current for 9.12 ft.

That's not even long enough for the wire to reach the rear battery.
Is this true?

I would definitely run two runs of 1/0 to the back battery. keep that voltage up. it'll get you more power from your amp, and help it run cooler and more efficient

What about the run from the alt. to the battery? Do you only need 1 run of 1/0 to the battery in the front if you are going to run multiple runs of wire to the back?

You could probably get away with a single 1/0run. doing a second run wouldn't hurt, and doesn't cost much.
Just make sure you are grounding the alternator to the chassis, and upgrading the battery ground as well.

i see what they were saying, that's for a strict tolerance on voltage drop.

I'm just gonna run Stinger's new 3/0 wire from alt to batt and then same wire from batt to rear batt.

They have 3/0 to 1/0 reducers so it works out perfect. Just over 6,200 strands.

If you are going to do multiple runs from front to back should you do multiple from alt. to battery?
