I have 4 crossfire bmf1000ds. and 4 optima yellow top batteries in my tool box. anyways i also just installed a powermaster 200 amp alternator. basically when i turn on my system for a full burp my voltage goes from 15.0 down to 12.4. thats a 30% drop. im just wondering what i can do to hold my voltage. my system is 2 DD9515 (SS1-2 no wall)

i'm not the battery expert, hehe, but i wonder if you would still drop to 12.4 with the vehicle off...
Alt isn't large enough, of course, for such a discharge so all your power is coming from batts. More batts would increase the float voltage by summing up all the batts.
Your dropping so low because of just that amount of power draw.
If you only had about 150A of draw or so, i bet that alt could keep up pretty good.
Like your post though, i'm gonna be in the same scenario soon.
300A alt with 3 2000ds and another 800w amp with 2 HC2400s and batt up front. This isn't for comps though, just daily but still good info.

yeah i have no less than 300 amps of draw. i was wondering if a couple of 400 batcaps would help me. or maybe even another 200 amp alternator. ive never ran a system of 12v before. ive always used 16v. this is a daily driver setup as well
