is it legal to relocate the battery under the hood from a stock location to a better location if there is more room and the battery has a proper tray and tie down?

It's "under the hood". I asked about this at World Finals because other people in my class had there batteries either in front of the radiator or behind it with an electric fan. I was gonna do the same thing in mine (put it infront of the radiator) becuase it was easier and safer for me.

But in your case Geoff, the only reason it would fit is your aftermarket bumper, correct?

Which would be illegal.

Wrong. There were other people with Astros at World Finals in my class. My battery is more narrow then an NSB so therefore it would fit easily and legally.

They were in CRXs and Astros so I don't see why not.

But did they have a bigger bumper, which allowed them to fit it in those positions Geoff.

It is in the rule afterall.
