I bought some off ebay for a really great price. When I measured it with my caliper to 0.01inches it was slightly larger than 1/0 welding cable (which is a true 1/0 wire) and slightly smaller than Stinger HPM cable (which is slightly larger than standard 0 guage). Its OFC copper wire, no idea how many strands it has but it seems very good especially since I got a 100 foot roll off ebay for $90!!! And no this is not copper clad aluminum wire its OFC copper. The company I bought the roll from only had one but they do have some 25 footers which cost a bit more but still a steal

Thank you Shockingcanada. That is what I wanted to know. [Wink]
Looks like I will be invesing in some audiopipe wire next year. Very reasonable and looks to be semi easy to work with. Not to mention very affordable.

just a note, if you can get 100 foot rolls (an need that much wire) they are way more handy than 25 foot rolls. The 25 footers are wrapped around a really small spool and so the last 12 feet of wire ends up really curly and can't really be straightened unless you hold it straight...when you let it go it curls again. THe 100 foot rolls don't have that problem as the spool is wider in diameter

i am in the process of trying to flatten out the 25 footers...its impossible there will be a huge bump under the carpet for sure because its so twisted it won't lay flat. its very frusterating

i have only messed with the 100' rolls. i know it is hard to move when it's cold (below 40f) when its warm out it is so easy. i would try to warm it then flatten it out...

KnuKonceptz has better 0/1 ga wire. It has 5145 strands and it's much cheaper than Stingers HPM and others out there. They're Ebay store sells it for $3.25 per foot.

I noticed that a few of you listed the wire as 1/0, for car audio it's actually listed as 0/1. Wire gauges don't stop at 0 ga. For car audio you find the wire in anything from 0/1 up to 24 ga for speakers. But when your talking about true power wire the gauges will go larger than 0 ga, and they rate it as 1/0, 2/0, 3/0 etc. Each of these is far thicker than any of the 0/1 or 2 gauge wire you'll find from any car audio suppliers. The really thick stuff like 1/0 and 2/0 wire comes from welding wire suppliers.

knukonceptz makes a couple of sizes of 0 guage, the one that is 3.25 on ebay is the normal one, the larger on is more money than that.

I ran the wire without straightening it real well it did ok. I tried straightening it in the warmth but it didn't work that well either
