ok.. here is the deal i used to have 13 deep cycle sealed heavy duty batts 850 cca.. grounded to frame with 0 gauge..2 runs of 0 gauge from alt... it was NOT connected to the front batt.... no light dimming.. all good...... NOW... same set up but kinetik 2400's ..now my lights dimm like crazy.. but my voltage is much much better...i love the kinetiks.. but whats up with the dimming and my alt drops hard core when the bass hits..( 300 amp alt )..is it just cuz the kinetiks expell all their power so fast.. in burst and its just sucking the alt like crazy??

quite possible. the cap portion drains fast, then you're left with small batteries.

do the lights dim only when your at idle, or do they do it all the time? I had a 200 amp alt put in and now my lights dim all the time when it's at idle. I was better off with the factory alt. I picked up an Excessive Amperage alt, it's got a 30 amp discharge rate at idle and 200 amps over 2000 rpm, compared to the factory one that had a 60 amp discharge at idle.
