anyone use one of these? I'm thinking about getting one to have my batts last longer, the guy new door has a midtronics, so I'm planning on testing my kinetik monsters, charge/tend one on the Ctek 7000, then if it makes a difference buy one. he also has a actual load tester so I'll be able to test the amps from both that and the midtronics little toy [Big Grin] if they both read the same I may pick up a midtroncs if the Ctek does it's job I'll get that too [Big Grin] just to help the batts last longer, he did a 4 year old optima blue top with the C-tek and after the cycling one where it drains then charges or whatever the one is the cycles the acid to free it up, it got back to 100% of it's stock cca or something, I think maybe higher that rating is what he said... the guy thought the battery was rubbish and he charged it with the cycling then left it over night, then checked it with the midtronics then the load tester I think... ANYwho, just seeing what kind of knowledge is out here on these typa things.. he also sells battery tender and says the Ctek is way better but he'd sell me a battery tender bnib for $40 if I wanted one... I'm guessing all else equal, any tender is better than none, and it sounds like these cycles are good for the battery with ANY batt and ANY brand of charger/tender that does something similar. and I'm guessing the kineik, stinger, batcap, and all others do the same crap, plus maybe a couple other features.. like work on 16v batts or whatnot..

post any comments about the C-Tek 7000 in specific or others, just trying to maintain my $1000 in batts a little LOL and get them charged to where I can get more out of them at any heavy single discharge may be nice also [Razz] THANKS!

Tom

I'm sure it's good for burps to have your battery 100% charged, and I noticed alot of guys have chargers, but I don't want a big thing in my house, I don't have a garage so I can't have a 200a/2a charger if I had a garage I'd have one, but don't so for me it makes more sense to have something like this and remove my batts from the vehicle and do them. I'd have to run 2 batts and the 3rd would just be constantly charging and swap out the front then rear and alternate. I can plug it into the car, but I'd need to run an extension cord out to the car to use a ctek or something similar lol.. thanks!

nice street B score btw! [Big Grin]

so I finally got one of these today. and it said it charged my hc2400 up in 4hrs charging @ 14.4v... I set it to the recondition mode (1.5A constant, maximized at 16v for 4hours) after as it recommends that for batteries that have been deep discharged... so I figured it'd be good since I always over drew on them and under charged them [Big Grin]

I dunno, we'll see. if the battery's don't like the charger I'll just go back with optima's as they seem very good in the long run. or if I can get them odyssey 2150s... I like kinetik, but since I'm not on team maxxsonics anymore I don't think I'll be getting any special deals from kinetik so therefore it's more economic especially bang for buck to run optima's since costco has yellow top G34s for like $180 a pop or something like that here locally... only reason I'm wondering if it's ok to run 16v @ 1.5A for 4 hours is because I looked at the kinetik charger and it doesn't say anything about this... so I'm not sure if the battery will like it. could be just a feature that would've been too expensive to add to the Kinetik chargers since they have other features, but I'm not sure... anyway, I'm going to let it sit for the 4 hours, then it goes automatically back to the pulse charge maintenance phase and consult the battery guy and see how long he thinks I should leave it on that before taking it in for him to do a full amp load test on it [Big Grin] I didn't know the guy when I got it, so I couldn't test it when it was new. but IF I do get another chance to do a new one I will [Smile] also, the guy is an optima, interstate and few other brand dealer. kinda cool, he thinks I overpaid for the kinetik, and I agree, but he hasn't tried to sell me anything. I just walk over talk story about all kinda stuff and asked what was up with the optima's on the charger and he said that charger can restore AGM/deep cycle batteries that've been deep discharged usually he gets them back up to over new ratings no matter what the case. and said if the kinetiks start my truck 5.6L v8 they should be fine even though I've been deep discharging and under charging/over drawing since I got them  nice guy... forget the other testers he has, but I'll get to do a full load amp test whenever I figure the batt is 100%. last time he checked one WHILE it was under my hood it was pretty bad news [Embarrassed] from the reading with his digital no-load tester it shouldn't of even started my truck. he said it was probably a bad connection so now I have charging posts on there and will have one fully charged to test and see what it does after 2 years of abuse... I noticed while I was driving around the other day it was 12.6v LOL while bumping slightly and watching music vids or playing video games or something forget which. I know I was using the TVs and the stereo was up must've been video games, because the digital voltage is on the inverter which is only on for the game counsoles...
