The guy at the local audio place told me I should just get some caps and not bother with a new alternator. My current alternator only pumps 55 amps and I think i need at least a 150 amp alternator to run both my amps (57 amps each). Should I invest in caps, alternator, or both?

Well...... the thing I have always been told is.....caps hurt your spl. But, you can probably find a new alternator for the price of a couple caps. So if ya got the money, just get a new alternator....caps just add more strain to the alternator.
