you will end up destroying cells charging at 14.4. besides, adding an alternator maybe, just maybe gain you .1db... it just comes in handy if there is no outlet at a show or if you mess up on your burp...

So your saying Jarfunkz throw some 8 volts in. an charge before shows ,burp and thats it. then mabye charge them again at the show If you have a charger. But you really dont think I will get more out put from an amp at 18 volt than 14 or 16. your saying I would only see mabye .1 db of a difference

alternator may add .1 db, it did for me(12 8v, 16 1000ds) 300 amp OG alternator... just charge via battery charger, its a way better charge than an alternator. to really get full potential from 16v(8 cells) you need about a 19.2v-19.4v charge(i am sure some do more, but this is optimum use from a large scaled perspective). anything under an 18.4 charge will weaken your batteries(2.3v per cell). 2.4v per cell would be optimal for that 19.2v. unfortunately you get dqed for 19.2v...

i recomend the se-3000 from schumacher, you can find this online for $239 shipped. 57A at 18v, very very powerful charger and none better under $400

How about If I used a smaller scale witch Im more leaning too no world records here lol. But yeah I understand yes battery chargers would charge faster than any alt would do. But do you think three or four 8 volts still wouldnt be good with 14volt alt.

i don't think you should charge the 8v with the 14.4 alt, unless you got a step up transformer, you could get one from rusty flowers
