how much difference is there to run negitive wire from battery to back? hook it direct to amp ? and chassis ground? what about more than 1 run of each power and ground when does it make more difference? as in how many rms watts? thanks for any help!

it isn;t goin to change how many watts u get out of your amps...runnin a ground from the battery is just like groundin it to the car cause the car is grounded but the battery so..

i meant i gonna run 2 1000w rms or 2000rms amps will i see a small big or no difference in spl with a added run of ground or running 2 runs of power and ground? compared to if i was using 2 4000rms amps with 2 or more power and ground runs

Ya, the overall electrical resistance will be lower, and if you haven't completed the big 3(chassis to beg. battery) then a thick negative wire should help transfer power more efficiently.
^^^Pretty much if you have the money and time and room, more wire is better but with dimishing return.

I'm fixing to do this today actually so any hints on what I should or shouldn't do? I will be running 2 1/0 strands power and 2 1/0 strands ground all the way back. Do I need to ground my front battery to the chasis the same way?

Why will running a 10-15 foot ground wire help the amp? I thought the ground was supposed to be as short as possible.

liar!!! i listined to you and my voltage was dropping at 9.8 to hte amps with 4 1/0 power wires and the amps ground to the body. and 11.5 at the battery. so i did what you suggested and ran 1 1/0 ground wire now my voltage is at 10.4 volts. so you will benifit no doubt.

what? either it's me or your post made no sense?
He's talkin about multi runs of wire helping and u say u had a Voltage dip to 9.8 with 4 runs so u did what someone suggested and it bumped it up 0.6v by using 1 instead of 4 runs but then go on to say "you will benefit no doubt."???????
So the less wire you use the higher the voltage one will get?

i believe he is saying he had 4 runs of power..no ground
he ran a ground from the battery and saw his voltage drop decrease correct me if i'm wrong

The voltage drop through copper wire will be less the through plated steel and spot welds. The body of the car was never really designed to pass the current that a very large amplifier needs.
