well driving home today i cranked it while driving by some guys checken out thier systems in thier trunks and i couldnt resist [Wink] i cranked it..... 30 seconds later i look down and notice my batery warning light blinking to the bass.......
alt COMPLETLY stoped puting out! luckely batery still had enough power to run all the way home with no problems since i was intown already [Wink]

went to autozone and got a lifetime warente one [Wink]

tho what im not sure about is they say HEAVY DUTY ALT..... not sure whats heavy duty about it since it looks exactly like the one i had on thier... tho this one is shiny.LOL
it was 5bucks more for the so called heavy duty one so i went ahead and got it.... any clue whats so HEAVY duty about it....LOL same thing... same 105amp charge same casing also.

i also upgraded my charging wire to some 0gauge wire and my voltage still dims to about it was before..... maybe like 0.2volts more... realy not much....
so i realy dont see why it would be called heavy duty and cost 5bucks more...

but it does have the lifetime warente which i ALWAYS gotta have!!!! thank goodness they dont have limitations on them. LMFAO needless to say even the so called heavy duty one im sure im gonna have to replace a few times while i own this truck.LOL
im just shocked that the stock alt lasted as long as it did! lasted 1 year since i got the truck.

If ya got it from Auto Zone you will be changing it about every 6 mths. If changing a Alt every 6 mths is what you want then go for it but wait untill you are out in the middle of no were and it goes out and your cell phone wont pick up then you'll be thinking about that guy on here that gave you advice to buy the high output Alt that's made for the abuse that you are putting on your Alt. just remember, tow bills are not cheap, really if it's are night and you have to wake them out of bed.
