I have a one wire ALTERNATOR I have it Hooked up to an OPTIMA Battery I would like to know if Grounding it With a WIRE instead of using the CHASSIS as a ground would increase it's output?

no it wont but it would make a beter ground seens how its not an isolated alt like a power line or leece neville but some times blocks loos there ground from the motormounts allways moven and the groundstraps in them get moist and rot and even some of the straps from the block to chasy get coroded and turn green there should be a screw stud on the back of that 10- 17 si witch ever you have you can ground it from there ot bottom mounting post good luck T.j

So the ground of the MOTORS chassis tends to move in and out of GROUND contact sometimes, so maybe a wire ground from ther alt to somwhere on the chassis would yeild better results, or at least improved?

It will make for a better ground. If you block is not getting a beter ground. lot of cars grounds today are pick up from the motor mounts. Well off to work ill be back on latter good day..........
