i have two deep cycle batteries
last week my wife was playing a cd and i was doing some work on the truck and then the stereo went off. So im thinking ok the batteries need to be charged up, so i jump start my truck and thinking my alternator would charge them, but now
the batteries will only get up to 12.8v running
but be4 this happened they would get up to 14.4v with the truck running, so i checked the alt to see what its doing and it says 14.8v with the motor on

i have 180 amp alt so i don't think i have a problem of charging 2 batteries

anyways i have had the batteries in my truck for a little over two years now
and the alt for about half a year
even be4 with my stock 105 the batteries always were charged up no problem
anyways i just did a road trip from san diego to new mexico, 12 hours and the batteries with the motor running sometimes their at 13.8v and sometimes 14.4v

thanks for any help anyone can give me
ps i havn't done to many comps with the batteries, just maybe 3 or 4
peace

well when you drain a battery like that you want to put a charger on it to charge it. Not start up your car and charge a dead battery. Its not to good for the electrical system. the batteries need like 2 hours for there boost charger. how long have you keept the car running??
