If I have a 120 amp battery isolator and a 175 amp alternator . Will the alternator be to much for that alternator.

Second question: I have a triple cell tractor battery from interstate to run as my second battery and a optima yellow top as my battery up front any issues with that with the two types of batteries

What one is better to use, a switching solenoid or a isolator, whats the pros and cons.

You'll need at least a 175amp isolator. 185 to be safe.

The isolator or solenoid will let you use the 2 different batts.

I'm not sure which is better, but I've read on here high current relays are the way to go.

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to switch to a 200amp relay from stinger. As I've also read that you get a .7v drop when using an isolator which isn't much but you know more voltage the better.
