Ok those of you familiar with the 2000 Honda Civic know the battery is tiny. My wife has this car and also has an Optima Red Top. It's the 10 pounds in a five pound bag thing again. What I wanna know is what I have to do special to mount the battery in the trunk and have everything work properly/safely. Do I need to vent it? How do you vent it? How to connect to factory connections? How big of cable? Thanks all. Mark Fenske

you will not need to vent an Optima. They are sealed batteries. Mount away.

That's kinda what I thought about the Optima. One more question for everyone then. In the rare event that I run her car thru an IASCA or USACi event, do they require ventilation of ALL batteries? Thanks. Mark Fenske
