Well I just finished my setup and I didnt even think about my alt. I have 2 bd1500s and a fusion 135 x 4 all runnin off a 105 amp alt in my pontiac. I had not clue it was that small. I need some help in what size I should get and where to get it at.

Like the first bass note of the song is always the loudest.. you can tell it drops off alot. 2 bd1500s and a fusion 135 x 4 just dont match with a 105 amp alt

The rule of thumb is to have 70 amps per 1000 watts of power (some say 80). So calculate that, then add the amperage to the existing alternator size...the OE alt was designed to run the OE electrical system and you are adding a large stereo system. Keep in mind that the power you need may not be attainable with one alternator. AND...if this is a competition car, depending on what class you may be in, you can only use 2 alts. If you are not a compeitor, the dual (or more) alt situation might be right for you. I would calculate the amounts for you but I am unfamiliar with the amps you have.
