I am going to use something similar to a redtop under the hood and a stinger bat or yellowtop in the trunk and I want to power the amps that are in my profile. I have been told that I will need an isolator and I am not sure what size I will need. After looking on ebay I was able to find a stinger isolator that was 80 amps, lightning audio 70 amp, and a few others ranging from 105-60 amps. I am not sure what size or kind I will need. If anyone has any other sugguestions on what I should do feel free to voice your opinion.

Thanks

Would the 105 amp one allow for future upgrades?

The isolator needs to be rated a little higher than your alternator is. Like if you have a 100amp alt the get one rated at 105-110+ amps. I have a 200amp alt with a 240amp isolator. It is big, about 12" in length.

You could also use a relay. I have no idea how to shop for one or even use it, but there have seen a few posts in here saying they work better.

This is the auction I was looking at for the isolators but It looks like I was actually seeing relays and not isolators. Would this one be ok for a multiple bat system and just under 200 amp alt.
