Do batcap 400s require an isolator or a relay? I plan on connecting two of these in my trunk to my stock electrical system on my integra. I plan on getting a new alternator soon as well. thanks in advance.

Do they NEED a relay? No. Could they possibly BENEFIT from one? Yes. It's generally bad to keep batteries with different potentials in parallel for long periods of time. With a relay in place to separate the two from the stock electrical system, when the ignition is off, you will not have to worry about it.

Yes, the exact same thing applies for the 8400 model as well. I ran an 8400 in my daily driver for months without any problems whatsoever...but I would always recommend a high current relay between any dissimilar batteries in the system to separate them when the ignition is off.
