I still can't believe that anyone can get enough stator winding in even a large case GM(CS144). Let alone enough diodes to carry 700 amps. The rectifier would most certainly have to be extrenal. I'm not saying it isn't possible it just sounds fishy.

I got my 200a alt for my blazer for $175 shipped 2 years ago off ebay new. I had it tested when my battery failed, it did 212 amps peak output @ 1800rpms, 115a @ idle (800 rpm). Not too bad. And it still works perfect today.

got you all beat. paid 75 bucks for a newly built alternator at 350amp tho never had tested at idle just on the machine that he shows you what its puting out compared to your old alt. and he also makes some massive alternators but said a fabricated mount would be needed. tho never asked him a price on that beast! id like to get it but dont feel like spending much more cash on a car hopefully i wont have to much longer.LOL

Funny story, the van would not start, so he couldnt drive it into the lanes!!!!! Wouldnt you say that is odd??? Maybe the huge burps were killing that bettery? LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!
