I'd go as high as 200 amp alt. You can go higher but then you run into a problem at idle. You have to keep in mind that the OE alt was designed to run the cars original accesories. Once you add big amps to the car, you'll need more alt power.

I'm not the best when it comes to this electrical stuff...but 200 amps seems high to me for just the little bit that he has. I have a stock 70 amp alt. running a DEI 1100d, Memphis 16-ST2004, and everything else in my car. No aftermarket electrical upgrades whatsoever. Sure my lights dim at night...but I don't think I would need to go as big as 200 amps to solve the problem. [Confused]

As long as you have a good battery and are not the type to have your system play as loud as it can all the time....you can get away with your stock alt.
I dont really see any need for the second battery with only one 1200 watt amp..Unless your factory battery is really small.
H.O.Alternators is right tho..some alt manufacurers are unable to produce over 200 amps and still have a good idle.. I dont see you needing over 180 amps max and around 100 at idle.

Dominick.
