hey i'm doin' up a system in my buddie's '91 Ford Aerostar XL and I'm trying to decide if the alternator needs replacing. Is there a way to find out what size it is by inspection? or how about a resource online? I have an idea that it's the 3g Ford style like the mustangs, and bronco II, but i'm not sure. any help?

also, i'm tossing in a Tsunami 1100D for daily driving... what kind of charging is necessary? i thoguht that 90 is just barely enough and 130 would be a good number (3G comes in both of those).

That one is a 2g alt.

The 91 Aerostar comes with a standard 75 amp and optional 80 amper.

also, if you are interested in a bigger alternator for that aerostar... there are 200 amp 3g alternators that will bolt on (a few wire mods needed)... at least for i know they exist for the 3.0l engine.. not sure about the 4.0
