Ok so after installing my 500bd hooked to a Punch HX2 10 Duel 4 ohm I experienced the headlight-dimming problem. So ok I went out and bought a 1 Farad RF cap and installed it. Well that helped some but I still have it, so after talking to a few people they suggested i make sure the ground for everything was good. Well I tore into the back of my truck cut a hole in the sub floor to reach the real floor pan where I used a 3/6 nut and bolt to ground my cap and amp to the same point. I made sure I sanded the paint off the whole grounding area inside and out and put the star washers on there and locked it down tight. Sounded like the plan should work. So at this point I have upgraded the battery to ground cable with and additional 4ga ground, the chassis to frame grounding strap with a 4ga ground and all my power wire to the amp and the amp and cap are all 4ga. The next morning I start up the truck and now I have this horrible whine threw the sub it goes away if I wiggle the remote turn on lead at the amp or if I remove the left channel RCA. Now my RCA’s are ran on the same side as the power wire but are separated by 2 layers of peal and seal from each other. Some have many ideas what this could be like the ground could be bad with using the amp and cap at the same location, or there could be something wrong with my HU. The only I mean only ground on the whole truck that isnt upgraded is the chassis to motor ground. Now wait after I added the cap I did have it hooked up to the same type of ground just at a different part of the chassis. So it sounds like my ground is bad right? On top of all that I now can watch my voltage gauge on the dash dance to the bass notes. The stock alternator is a 95amp one, I plan on this week getting a 130 amp unit. But can anyone tell me whats up with this whine?

one clue is that REMOVING 1 RCA stops the whine

so that means the noise is inducted and it has nothing to do with grounds -------in the sense that they are bad

dig up your RCAs ------ move them around does the noise level change?

if not

mute the amp by making enough of these for all the channels

does it shut up? -------reconnect RCAs and move up the signal path and mute the next part
