Hey Guys...I need a bit of help here. I'm planning my next system and so far as I figure I'll be running 2000 to 2500 watts off of my Soundstream Class A 5.0's and 10.0's. I plan on running two runs of 2ga back to the amps.
Here's my question...What am I going to need as far as upgrades on the power system goes. My truck has a factory 100amp Alternator. Should I get a Second battery (yellow top)? or should I put a Capacitor or two on each amp? What size alternator should I upgrade to? I was thinking about just adding the second battery and upgrading the alternator...would this be enough?
Thanks in advance Jared

why are you running two line's to the back. why not run a single 1/0awg back. as for the other stuff, i've been told to stay away from caps if i can work extra batteries into the system. supposedly they're not all that good, as with that much power your gonna need 3-4farads and that's gonna cost alot more than 1 or two good batteries.

That's kinda what I thought on the batteries but I had no Idea I'd need that much capacitance. Thanks for your help on that. As for the two runs of 2ga. If I'm not mistaken that is, for one, bigger than a 1/0 and secondly, it is less expensive for me...I have a friend who can get it for me on discount but they don't carry anything higher than 2ga.
Thanks for your help Jared
