hey guys. i currently have a sub amp that pulls 80 amps and i have an amp that pulls 40 amps being shipped to me at this moment. i have a '95 oldsmobile cutlass supreme and about 4 months ago i already burnt up my alternator by turning my sub amp too high, i was wondering if there was any way i could prevent this from happening without buying a higher output alternator, i.e. maybe a battery or cap or something...thanks for the advice ahead guys.

several 1farad caps or an alumapro or pg cap15 and if your alternator is blowing diodes now (that was the problem right?) it might be because on some diodes packs they come soldered and some come welded the welded ones never fail but the soldered ones do because of the solder joints getting melted and going cold i don't know what your car look like under the hood but you might be able to put a leece nevile(ambulance) alternator in it that is bigger in size but it really puts out what is says it will

Tell me what you think about the Ohio Generator alt 180amp hot rated for $375 shipped? I am sure everyone will think this is a good idea and a good deal.

hey man those stock GM alts suck, what you need to do is go get it redone with a better bearing, mine did the same thing from only having an amp that pulled 20 amps from it, since it was redone though it works great an I havent had a problem with it in 2 years, just go to a good alt shop and they should be able to hook you up.
