This is probably a silly question but Here goes! How important is a volt meter guage for for your system? I am having a high output 200 amp alt built for my car, and the only connection on the alt is for the charge line. The end result my stock guage in the dash wont work. Should I throw in a digital volt meter inside the car. I notice some big boys use multi meters on there podiums is this just for looks or function as well. Just wondering

Just an easy way to keep tabs on what your stereo system is doing to your charging system.
Not an absolute must, but handy.

Drop the wire for your stock guage on there. A voltmeter can be wired in parallel to any power cable in the car.
