what would your best bet be on batteries of your choice and why? which would be more beneficial a high amp hour rating on a 12volt battery , or med. amp hour rating on 14volt battery system, what are the advantages and disadvantages?

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? If you are looking for maximum power out of what equipment you have and your amps will produce more power at a higher voltage then a 14V setup will be best. Of course you will need a specialized charging system to charge the batteries. I think you would need to figure out a modified watt hour rating on both to see which would be more beneficial. What amps are you using? What is your charging system going to consist of? Are you looking for competition purposes, daily use? What are average ratings that you are seeing on the 12 and 14 Volt batteries?
