when using two optima yellow tops off a factory alt, what is the best way to wire/connect them?

It depends on what you are looking for. If you want the ability to run the radio for a long time and hop in the car and start it - see the post rregarding the 200 amp solenoid. Otherwise, if both batteries are roughly the same age and condition, you can just parallel them together. Although, I think the red tops are better suited for car starting/running. The yellows are designed for stereos. HTH Ed
